Vulcan Park and Museum is home to the world's largest cast iron statue. Wouldn't it be cool, we thought, to design a site-specific dance piece inspired by the Vulcan myth? Yeah, it was cool. A perennial favorite with funders, and viewed by over 5,000 students in its five-year run, Vulcanalia was a smash. Word got out. Alabama Public Television sent a crew to record Vulcanalia. Today, it’s distributed to each and every Alabama schools through APTV’s IQ Learning Network.
